Convenient Access from Shantz Village
New streets are still filling in north of Highway 582, and households there already have a dentist near Shantz Village just across the highway. Didsbury Dental Centre is on 20 Street at the north end of downtown Didsbury, and the drive from Shantz Drive takes about 2 minutes. Our three dentists provide cleanings, fillings, implants, dentures, orthodontics and sedation in one building.
From Shantz Drive, follow the short internal streets out to 23 Street and head south to Highway 582. Turn left and travel east along the highway for a few blocks, then turn right onto 20 Street. The office is about 0.3 km south of that junction, near 23 Avenue, and the full trip is roughly 1.0 km.
Two familiar spots frame the drive. The marked crosswalk at Highway 582 and 23 Street is where you meet the highway, and Didsbury Memorial Park, with its three ball diamonds and 2.5 km trail, sits on the same north side of town as Shantz Village. Our address is 2220 20 St, Didsbury, AB T0M 0A2, and you can pull it up on Google Maps before your first visit.
Neighbours in Valarosa, farther east on the north side of the highway, and in Westhill, on the west side of town south of 582, make a similarly short trip to see us.
A Practice Ready for a Growing Shantz Village
Shantz Village is one of the newer chapters in the story of Didsbury, in Mountain View County. The Town adopted an Area Structure Plan for about 18.5 hectares immediately north of Highway 582 and east of 23 Street, less than a kilometre from downtown. You can read the plan on the Town of Didsbury planning studies page.
That plan describes a neighbourhood with a range of housing: semi-attached homes, apartments and commercial space, with room in its policies for an assisted living facility. In practice, that means Shantz Village households can include first-time buyers, young couples, parents and people well into retirement. A dental office serving the area has to be comfortable with all of them.
For over 40 years, our practice has been dedicated to helping families in Didsbury, Olds, Carstairs and surrounding communities. Today three dentists share the work, which makes it easier to find a time that suits you. Every weekday opens at 7 am, so an early check-up can be finished before work or errands downtown.
We also keep the care under one roof. Crowns and other restorations are made in our on-site lab, 3D implant planning happens on our own CBCT unit, and sedation is available in the same building. For a Shantz Village resident, the result is fewer trips and fewer referrals out of town.
Replacing Missing Teeth: What Shantz Village Adults Should Know
A neighbourhood planned for mixed ages brings one dental topic to the front: what to do when a tooth is lost or a denture stops fitting well. Many adults put the decision off because they assume the options are limited or that planning means travel. Here, both are handled locally.
Dental implants replace the root of a missing tooth as well as the visible crown. When a tooth is gone, the bone that held it can shrink over time, which is one reason an implant is often discussed sooner rather than later. Our Types Of Dental Implants page walks through the implant options the practice offers in plain language.
Planning starts with a 3D image. Our in-house CBCT scanner shows bone height, nerve position and sinus space, and the practice notes that you will not need to travel elsewhere for imaging or surgical planning. When bone is thin, Dr. Jaiswal can perform bone grafting in the same office.
Not every Shantz Village patient needs an implant, and standard dentures remain a sensible choice for many people. New patients can book a Free Dental Implant + CBCT Consultation to compare options with a 3D scan in hand. Whether an implant suits you depends on that exam, your bone and your general health.
Younger households in the neighbourhood have a different priority: keeping teeth healthy so replacement never becomes a question. Regular hygiene visits, early treatment of gum inflammation and small fillings done promptly are what keep that story short.
Services from Your Dentist Near Shantz Village
Dental Implants
Single-tooth and full-arch fixed implants are planned with in-house CBCT imaging. Shantz Village patients get the scan, the surgery and the follow-up visits at one address across the highway.
Restorative Dentistry
Fillings, crowns, bridges and dentures rebuild teeth that are worn, broken or missing. Crowns are fabricated in our on-site lab, which keeps the work close to the dentist who prepared your tooth.
Periodontics
Gum disease is a leading reason adults lose teeth, and it often starts without pain. We check gum health at every hygiene visit and treat inflammation early so it does not threaten the bone.
Preventative Care
Cleanings, exams and digital scans form the base of care for every age in Shantz Village. Our hygiene team uses GBT Airflow guided biofilm therapy to remove plaque gently from teeth and gums.
Sedation Dentistry
Oral and IV sedation help anxious adults get through longer treatment, including implant surgery. Dr. Jaiswal offers IV sedation for anxious patients facing extensive procedures.

What Our Patients Are Saying
Frequently Asked Questions
How far is Didsbury Dental Centre from Shantz Village, and how do I get there?
Our office is about 1.0 km from Shantz Village, roughly a 2-minute drive. Take 23 Street south to Highway 582, turn left, then turn right onto 20 Street and continue about 0.3 km to the office. For households north of the highway, that puts a full-service dentist near Shantz Village closer than most errands in town.
Do you offer full-arch implants as well as regular dentures?
Yes. Our dentists provide everything from standard dentures to full-arch fixed dental implants, which hold a complete set of teeth on several implants. The right choice depends on your bone, your budget and how you want the teeth to feel. A consultation with a 3D scan lets you compare both options side by side before you decide anything.
Is the 3D scan for implant planning done in your office?
Yes, the CBCT scan is taken in our own building. It produces a three-dimensional image of your jaw, nerves and sinuses, which the dentist uses to choose implant size and position. Because the scanner is in-house, you do not need to travel to another clinic for imaging, and the planning and surgery stay with the same team.
Will you send my insurance claim for me?
Yes, our team is happy to file your insurance claims on your behalf. If you are unsure whether your plan is accepted, contact the office and we will gladly verify your benefits first. Patient portions are due at the time of your visit, and we take cash, debit, Visa and MasterCard for that part of the bill.
Why do my gums bleed when I brush?
Bleeding gums are most often a sign of inflammation from plaque left along the gumline. Left alone, that early stage can progress into gum disease that affects the bone around your teeth. A hygiene visit removes the buildup, measures your gum pockets and shows you which areas need more attention at home, so the problem can be caught early.
